Square Foot Garden--The Finished Project!!

For those of you, like me, who are interested or excited by the thought of having your own square foot garden you may be wondering what you need to get started. Don't let the "starting up" process intimidate you--it is actually quite simple. Here's what you will need:
MATERIALS:

  • Four 4 foot 2x6 inch boards
  • Six 4 foot wood lath boards (I actually used twine to divide my sections)
  • Weed block cloth
  • Soil Mix (1/3 peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 blended compost) These can be found at any garden center, Home Depot, Lowes, etc...
  • Wood screws (3-4 inches long)
  • A power drill
  • The seeds you want to plant
That's it! Easy Breezy!

I finally finished my square foot herb garden that I've been dreaming about and I am loving it! It not only looks great, thanks to the square foot design, but smells wonderful---with all the herbs and I use the herbs a lot when I cook.
Here's my finished garden!
